Trish Richardson is a board-certified nurse executive, and certified medical surgical registered nurse with over 30 years of business and healthcare operations experience. Richardson serves as the 56th President of the North Carolina Nurses Association, and Membership Assembly Representative (North Carolina) of the American Nurses Association who boldly uses her voice as a passionate advocate for North Carolina’s 158,000 registered nurses. Trish is an accomplished author, keynote and motivational speaker, and in-demand thought leader specializing in operational excellence strategies to improve risk management and care quality, achieve service excellence, foster patient engagement, design tailored education and career pathing programs, and enhance recruitment and retention.
Richardson’s extensive leadership experience spans acute and post-acute care including clinical program development, performance improvement, and system wide education design and facilitation of acute and chronic care management for nephrology, pulmonology, oncology, neuroscience, bariatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and general surgery. She has a long established and proven track record of infusing enthusiasm and commitment directing change initiatives.
Trish is committed to serving her community through her work as a volunteer for the North Carolina Office of Emergency Management, Capital Medical Reserve Corps. Fun fact—while her healthcare career spans both ACUTE and POST-ACUTE CARE…before nursing? Trish was a licensed stockbroker and worked in corporate accounting.
